Pipe jacking

In order to avoid serious inconvenience to road or rail traffic and having to divert watercourses or demolish buildings, SODRAEP has developed a pipe-jacking method.

This method involves pushing pipes through from a thrust pit and removing the earth that collects in the pipes as the cutting face advances (diameter max. 3500 mm).

SODRAEP has a remote-controlled tunnel-boring machine that removes earth hydraulically or by suction.

Pipe-jacking operations have been executed in : Amay, Anderlues, Boussu, Brussels, Comines, Courcelles, Court-St-Etienne, Etterbeek, La Louvière, Manage, Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Overijse, Perwez, Saint-Ghislain, Tournai and Uccle.
